Background
Ja'Mal Green, a prominent community activist, emerged as a powerful voice for change in Chicago's 2023 mayoral race. As he stepped into the political arena for a second time, Green needed a digital platform that could amplify his message, engage voters, and showcase his vision for the city's future.
The Challenge
In a crowded field of candidates, Green needed to stand out and connect with Chicagoans on a deeper level. His campaign required a website that could not only communicate his platform effectively but also serve as a dynamic hub for voter engagement and real-time updates. The challenge was to create a digital presence that matched the energy and passion of Green's grassroots campaign while providing a user-friendly experience for both visitors and campaign staff.
The Opportunity
This project presented a chance to redefine how a political campaign could leverage digital tools to foster meaningful connections with voters. It was an opportunity to create a website that went beyond static information, instead serving as an interactive platform that could evolve alongside the campaign and respond to the pulse of the city.
Fueling grassroots support with a strategic donation system
Our team worked closely with USAN stakeholders to architect a role-driven system that mirrors the complexity of drug nomenclature governance. We established five distinct user roles – USAN Administrator, Council Negotiator, Pharma Applicant, Organization Admin, Document Contributor – each with tailored permissions reflecting their unique responsibilities in the approval lifecycle.
Dynamic Content Management System
The website's content management system (CMS) was a key feature that empowered Green's campaign team to maintain an agile and responsive digital presence. Built on a robust and flexible platform, the CMS allowed staff members to easily update content, add new pages, and manage campaign events without requiring technical expertise. This dynamic system enabled the campaign to rapidly respond to breaking news, update policy positions, and keep supporters informed about Green's activities on the campaign trail. The CMS also facilitated the integration of social media feeds and a regularly updated blog, ensuring that the website remained a vibrant hub of campaign activity throughout the election season.
