About Me

I have four years of experience in UX Design, but I've worked in the tech industry since 2016. Right now I'm an in-house designer at the American Medical Association, where I focus on creating user-centered solutions for physicians. I hold a Master's degree in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

I love design because it's given me the power to create things for work. I also love collaborating. I love the feeling when you give another designer advice, they take it and it improves what they were working on. Like by yourself, you had an okay design but together you made something great. I also love it when someone I'm working with ignores my advice because they don't want to follow conventions. Then it's like we had our own tiny rebellion. I also love that people have their own rules for what makes good design and learning those is always interesting. When you can navigate those while still creating something good and useful, that also feels really good.

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my family consisting of a dog and three cats and my husband. Currently, we're collaborating on designing a video game inspired by the classic game Rock, Paper, Scissors; he handles the programming in Python while I focus on the visual aspects. I'm also working a rummy game app and learning Unity to build it. In my free time, I love playing video games and watching TV shows, particularly procedural dramas. I love beening crafty! Right now, I'm obessed with knitting. I also have a habit of listening to audiobooks I find on NPR and The Atlantic while I play farming sims. Additionally, I'm an avid fan of Taylor Swift, though I tend to keep that to myself unless someone else brings her up first.
